About Me
I am extremely friendly and talkative, but I won't give away answers. Instead, I point students in the right direction while letting them make mistakes along the way. Mistakes should be encouraged, not discouraged, since that's the only way to learn. I am patient and interested in the thoughts of my students and I encourage discussion during my sessions. I can make learning math and physics fun by giving clear applications of the subject material.
Education
I attended UC Santa Barbara and recently graduated in June 2020. I studied math and physics and received a BS in physics and a minor degree in math.
Teaching Experience
I have worked for UC Santa Barbara as a tutor for the past 3 years, where I helped students with university courses. I tutored students individually as well in groups of 30+. I tutored in a wide range of subjects including Newtonian mechanics, calculus, linear algebra, differential equations, vector calc, and also proof-based math. I have also logged 100s of hours of tutoring over zoom. I also have taken the SAT and GRE and have helped students study for the math portion of both. I personally scored an almost perfect score on the quantitative section of the GRE.
Interests
My favorite thing to do when I am not working is learning. Specifically, I am subscribed to some very informative youtube channels that I learn from. On these channels, I learn number theory, analysis (real and complex). I also try and solve previous IMO (international math olympiad) problems for fun. I also love to solve difficult integrals; the whole process feels like putting together a hard puzzle.
I love teaching and explaining science at every level!
